This segment will also feature existing saving and investment opportunities and possible enterprises that can be provided to the OFWs and their families.

SIDC Egg Layer Farm – Investment Package

Aside from the Coop Mart, we are also mobilizing investment in the SIDC Egg Layer Farm. We chose to mobilize migrant investment in SIDC Egg layer farm business because it is already a successful venture. There is a huge market for eggs and SIDC needs to expand its egg layer farm business to respond to the demands of the market. Mr. Rico Geron, the General Manager of SIDC mentioned, “In this time of financial crisis, the egg is the cheapest source of protein. If people cannot afford to buy chicken, they buy eggs instead.”
Mobilizing OFW Investment towards Agri-based Cooperatives in the Philippines

I always like to start the year with good news for our kababayans abroad and their families in the Philippines. I thought this is an opportune time for me to share about the initiatives of migrants from Italy in partnership with Atikha and Sorosoro Ibaba Development Cooperative (SIDC), the largest agri-based cooperative in the Philippines to support agricultural cooperatives and enterprises in the Philippines. Last December 18, in celebration of the International Migrant’s Day, we were so happy to launch the fruits of this partnership.
